Research is often my favorite part of a project—learning about a business, asking questions, and figuring out what really needs to be communicated. I’m a practical designer at heart. I like ideas that work, details that serve a purpose, and solutions that make things clearer and stronger.
That way of thinking goes back to how I found design in the first place. In my late teens, my dad made a barter with a husband-and-wife design team: he did their landscaping, and I spent a summer in their studio observing, learning, asking questions, and teaching myself the Mac. I was hooked and immediately switched my major from Art History to Graphic Design.
What hooked me then is still what keeps me here: I like solving problems and helping people and organizations succeed. I enjoy figuring things out together and believe good ideas can come from anywhere. I don’t particularly care whose idea wins—I care that the work does.
I love nothing more than bringing clarity to an idea.
